Blog Update 1: My First Post:

About the construction of this website, the reason for it & what to expect in the future

Part 1: About the construction of my personal project CommodityScreener.com

After over 4 weeks of fighting with WordPress and the GDPR, I am finally ready to present my website, fully designed and constructed by me.

The building of the entire website was completely new to me even if, contrary to the implementation of the GDPR guidelines, this was a piece of cake. If you are living out of the European Union the chances are high that you don’t exactly know what this regulation is or you even maybe never heard something about it. It is a law that is effective for all Europe and was introduced back in 2018 to strengthen your rights regarding your private data.

For example, the cookie banner that you saw when first visiting the website is required for every website with visitors from the European Union. Moreover, before you give the consent for cookies other than necessary ones, you are not allowed to set other cookies. Only after the user’s consent; they are allowed to get activated. And the list of requirements is very long. The problem with this law is that it is very complicated to integrate for private websites or smaller companies.

But we’re not here to talk about privacy, even though i promise that i will use all private data only for sending my reports to the subscribers. No data will be used for spam or resale.

Part 2: The motivation for creating CommodityScreener.com

Now to the next question: Why creating a blog covering topics like commodities or mining stocks?

Because I am fascinated by this area of investment. Although I am now also invested in the ‘’normal’’ stock market, commodities continue to inspire me the most by a wide margin. After I’ve bought my first share – it was a small explorer company listed in Canada – I took the first steps in buying mining shares. As it turned out later I was very lucky. The company published excellent drilling results and the share skyrocketed in the following days.

By the way: Today the company is basically bankrupt and the project is still not in production. Stories like these are very typical for this sector of investment. I was 14 years old back then when I entered this market – and since then I never could escape.

In the meantime, I have invested or been invested in various commodity stocks for almost 10 years. I have already experienced quite a bit. The spectrum ranges from a ten-bagger to some broke candidates. Despite my still young age, I am convinced that I already have a lot to tell.

For this reason; I have launched this website. I would like to share my ideas and opinions with other interested investors and discuss with them.

Part 3: What to expect in the future

It must be taken into account that this has so far been a pure hobby project. Therefore, of course, I can only spend a limited amount of time for the creation of content.

The heart of the website will be the Research Reports. These are comprehensive reports and analyses on one specific topic relating to investing in commodities. Interested visitors can subscribe to the free e-mail distribution list. You will be informed about all new articles and receive all research reports two weeks before publication on the blog. All this is free of charge. Currently, I am planning to publish at least 8 issues per year, maybe more. This depends on the time I can afford.

Also, I will publish smaller articles on various topics more frequently. The focus will certainly be on commodities and the investment in this area. However, I do not rule out the possibility that I will also address other investment topics from time to time.

I am already planning a series of articles called investment stories. It will focus on a specific investment from the past and explain what I have learned from it. Believe me, there’s a lot to tell.

Via blog updates, I will report about changes on the website.

So enjoy the content and discuss with me and others in the comments or just send me a mail. I am looking forward to it. I am also always happy about constructive criticism, for example how to improve the blog or the content.

Many thanks for your interest!

Julian
